Robert Murray’s coal company hired restructuring advisers to address debt challenges
Murray Energy Corp. is assessing restructuring options with help from legal and financial advisers as it confronts declining coal prices in domestic and international markets, according to people familiar with the matter.
The St. Clairsville, Ohio-based coal producer is working with restructuring professionals from Kirkland & Ellis LLP and Evercore Inc. to examine options for addressing the company’s near-term debt challenges, the people said.
